Many women buy women’s shoes as a fashion statement and a symbol of status and stature. Many individuals purchase shoes when they need them or their old ones wear out. However, dress shoes, athletic shoes, formal shoes are necessary and serve different functions.

Origins of Shoes

The original purpose of the shoe was for the protection and safe guarding of human feet . Rather is be from the harsh elements or rugged landscape , shoes enabled man to travel further, faster and more efficiently . The first shoes were made out of leather or various animal skins. Later on, shoes became much more elaborate as man learned how to better fabricate them as they honed their craft.

Men came to find wearing shoes to be a necessity as it aided their duties in hunting and farming. But women started making shoes fancier over time, adding designs and feminine elements. Because of this women’s shoes have become the elegant pieces you see in the modern era. Something extravagant and trendy that they cannot get enough of.

Shoes are made from different parts and in different ways. Each component, down to the materials to the glue will determine the longevity of the individual shoe in question. They are either made by hand, machine or both. Cheap or expensive. Nice or junky or anywhere in between.

Sole - is bottom part where all the padding comes into play to give the wearer optimal support. Shoes with good padding are crafted with quite a bit of layers for added support. Running shoes often have the best support and most padding, even times being made of space ages materials.

Insole – refers to the interior of a shoe. The foot sits right on it and can often be easily replaced when it is worn out. This is a nice conveince as you can just purchase a replacement insole rather than having to spend money on an entirely new set of shoes.

Upper cover – refers to the top of the shoe. It also goes by the name of vamp in many womens shoes. Many women’s shoes, such as Taryn Rose shoes just have straps rather than a full upper cover. They are cooler this way but do not offer protection of the foot from the elements and are not as popular during the wet winter months.

Heel – An integral part of any shoes, this part is different from the rest of the shoes and was usually added on in the end and, like the insole, can be replaced in some cases. Many women wear heels because it gives them a tremendous height advantage. It’s very common for heels to become very narrow at the bottom and be a challenge for some women to walk in.

Women seem to have a shoe for every occasion. Women will often have pairs of shoes that are only worn with a certain outfit. Men have casual, dress and athletic shoes, women have all those times 10 and all in a different color for each minute of the day or night

At my age, I’ve always wondered how I can have my teeth aligned without being forced to wear those ugly braces I see on kids and teens. The treatment makes it particularly popular among adults who want to straighten their teeth without glaring metal braces, which are commonly worn by children and adolescents. Many people also claim the aligners set by invisalign dentists to be more comfortable than metal braces. Another feature that makes it better than the rest is its removable feature allowing people to eat and brush their teeth without the uncomfortable dental appliance.

Proper use of the aligners indicates that they should be removed before eating, drinking beverages (there’s no problem with drinking water while they are on), or brushing teeth. Invisalign aligners also cause less pain as they give less force than metal braces.

Invisalign treatments not only look better but are also quicker and more comfortable, which is why a lot of people prefer them over others. A large-scale study showed that traditional appliances took an average of 36 months, with the longest treatment taking 96 months. Invisalign on the other hand is taking only a year to a year and a half to finish. Of course, there are other methods such as surgery or implants that take only half the time to finish. Dental appliances or Invisalign are normally much cheaper than those quicker methods, however.

Does Your Drinking Water Present a Health Risk Because of Lead?

The Environmental Protection Agency has stated categorically, “Lead is the number-one environmental health threat to our children.” Years ago parents were shocked to learn that the paint used in their children’s rooms was actually poisonous because it was lead based. But even when that was outlawed, it didn’t eliminate the problem of lead poisoning.

There are five heavy metals that pose a health risk when ingested: lead, cadmium, mercury, aluminum, and beryllium. The first three are the most dangerous. None of the five has any known health benefit. Lead gets into our systems through newsprint, paint, pencils, pesticides, rain water, pvc containers, tin cans with lead solder, toothpastes, metal polish, and several other means.

How does lead get in our drinking water? If you have an old house, chances are you are still feeding your faucets through lead pipes. Copper has been around for a long time but even if the house piping was replaced, the feed line from the street may still be old piping. If you have a well, the casing, feed lines, or storage tank may contain lead. If you are on city water, it probably has a level of lead anyway. I checked the test result of my city water and was not surprised to see the lead level was within acceptable limits. The water contained 2.5 parts per billion but could have as much as 12 ppb and still pass. However, the last check was two years before this report.

An examination of 65 of the 3,000 largest utilities found that cities such as Philadelphia, Boston, New York City, Providence, R.I., and Portland, Maine, are “manipulating the results of tests used to detect lead in water, violating federal law and putting millions of Americans at risk,” The Washington Post reported. More than 250 major cities currently exceed the EPA’s lead standards, and many of them have been deceptive, or even fraudulent, in their reporting of the problems.

“Each year in the U.S., lead in drinking water contributes to 480,000 cases of learning disorders in children and 560,000 cases of hypertension in adult males.” Though we can’t get rid of lead in our water systems entirely, we can do as much as possible to minimize the problem.

The list of negative effects of lead in the system is long. Here is an edited version: abdominal pain, adrenal insufficiency, allergies, anemia, anorexia, anxiety, arthritis (rheumatoid and osteo), attention deficit disorder, autism, back pain, behavioral disorders, blindness, cardiovascular disease, cartilage destruction, coordination loss, concentration loss, constipation, convulsions, and deafness.

The list continues. In summary, the leading areas of concern are kidney problems and nervous system damage. As you can see, these are not the only problems lead causes, but they are certainly a legitimate concern.

The next question is, what do we do about it? How can we protect our children from any possibility of the crippling effects of lead poisoning? First, check your house for lead paint and your water system for lead pipes. Second, filter your drinking and cooking water. A good activated carbon filter like the Black Berkey or their shower filter will remove 95% of the lead present in the water. That is a giant first step in providing safe water for yourself and your family.

Online Beat Maker

A beat maker these days usually requires a download that you then install on your computer. The internet revolution has made it very easy to download a beat maker and try it out on your computer. This will work with something called ‘beats per minute’ or BPM. So if you have a song at 120 BPM this means that every minute 120 beats will be played (of course they don’t all have to be used.). Along with that feature, there might be a measure setting, meaning 4/4 time or 3/4 time etc (which has to do with the beats per measure).

Virtual beat makers allow you to add the sounds by assigning a sound to a specific beat. Normally, a measure will loop round-and-round and you can assign a sneer drum to every other beat for instance, and then when it loops around again you will hear the sneer on every other beat. Then you can add other sounds using the other tracks at your disposal. This makes it very easy to create a beat in a very short amount of time. The newer beat makers will have a piano key-set as well so you can add piano sounds, bass-lines, guitar parts or vocal samples etc. (without having to buy any hardware). This is nice if you want to make the entire song from start to finish using an inexpensive virtual music beat maker.

One of the most important things to look for in a beat maker is the quality of the sound library you have access to. If the sound of the samples is poor, then no matter how good your beat, you will be frustrated with the final product.

Once you have produced your hip-hop or rap beat you can usually convert this to an mp3 with the click of a button. Take note that this is an important feature you should definitely look for in a beat maker and the more exporting options available, the better. Many people will make a quick loop in the beat maker and then transfer the mp3 to a more sophisticated multi-track sequencer for further polishing.
